$POG Whitepaper

Player Onchain Gaming

A protocol for putting in-game materials on-chain so players can verify scarcity and trade freely. Hosted at JoinPOG.com.

1. Abstract

Most games treat materials as private database rows. Drop rates, remaining supply, and true rarity live on studio servers. Players cannot audit whether a “legendary” resource is scarce, and they cannot take that resource outside the title that issued it.

$POG (Player Onchain Gaming) is a gaming token designed to make in-game materials public facts. Issuance, caps, ownership, and transfers are recorded on a blockchain. Players inspect scarcity in their own wallet instead of trusting a hidden loot table.

The first client path is optimized for Robinhood Wallet. Games, inventory views, and trade flows are presented through JoinPOG.com so connecting and verifying does not require a specialist tooling stack.

2. The problem

Closed game economies fail players in three structural ways.

2.1 Hidden rarity

Drop tables are unpublished or change without a public log. A player who farms for weeks has no independent way to confirm how many units of a material exist, or whether more will be minted after they finish the grind.

2.2 Manipulated supply

When an in-game market needs a patch, studios can inject inventory from the server. There is no hard cap the community can read. Value created by play can be diluted overnight.

2.3 Locked inventories

Materials are trapped in a single client. Players cannot freely trade with counterparties who can verify the same scarcity data, and they cannot prove ownership outside the game.

3. Thesis

If a material matters to a player, its scarcity should be checkable. $POG treats materials as on-chain objects (or claims settled by on-chain objects) whose mint count, cap, and holder set are visible to anyone with a wallet.

The design goals are:

  • Transparency first. Caps and remaining supply are readable without asking the studio.
  • Player custody. Earned materials land in the player’s wallet, not a hidden server bag.
  • Open trade. Transfers are peer-to-peer; both sides can inspect the same ledger.
  • Wallet-native UX. Robinhood Wallet is the intended connect, hold, and trade path.

4. System design

4.1 Layers

  • Game layer (JoinPOG.com). Titles award materials for play. The client shows the same counts the chain will show.
  • Settlement layer ($POG + material contracts). Mints, burns (if used for crafting), and transfers are public.
  • Wallet layer (Robinhood Wallet). Players connect, view balances, and sign trades.

4.2 Material representation

Each material type (for example a capped legendary shard versus a common ore) is issued under documented rules: whether it has a hard cap, whether it can be crafted or burned, and how play unlocks a mint. The game UI must not contradict contract state. If the two disagree, the chain is the source of truth.

4.3 Network

Final chain ID, RPC endpoints, and verified contract addresses will be published on JoinPOG.com at mainnet so Robinhood Wallet users can add the network from a single official list. This whitepaper does not freeze a chain until those parameters are locked.

5. Player flow

  1. 01 — Connect Robinhood Wallet

    The player’s address becomes the inventory key across JoinPOG.com games. No studio-held item bag is required for custody of on-chain materials.

  2. 02 — Play and earn

    Eligible drops mint to that address. Remaining supply and caps stay visible during play so rarity is not a post-hoc surprise.

  3. 03 — Trade transparently

    Transfers are signed in-wallet. Counterparties can read mint count, cap, and ownership before they accept a trade.

6. Token utility

$POG is a play-and-settle token, not a closed cosmetic badge. Intended uses:

  • Material settlement. In-game resources that need public scarcity are issued or redeemed against on-chain state.
  • Scarcity proofs. Anyone can verify how many units exist and who holds them.
  • Crafting and sinks. Games may burn or lock materials (and related $POG flows) when players craft, so sinks are as visible as mints.
  • Open trading. Players move materials and $POG through Robinhood Wallet without a hidden listing desk.

$POG does not grant equity, revenue share, or a legal claim on JoinPOG.com. Utility is in-game and on-chain as described here.

7. Tokenomics

$POG has a fixed total supply of 1,000,000,000 POG (one billion), set at launch. The cap does not increase afterward. Circulating supply will be wallet-readable after mint. Remaining parameters below are locked as they go live.

Allocation buckets (play rewards, liquidity, treasury, team, if any) will be listed with unlock schedules in a mainnet addendum. This document refuses unallocated “mystery supply.”

8. Robinhood Wallet

$POG is optimized for Robinhood Wallet so the default path is connect, hold, and trade — not a maze of custom RPC sheets. Official contract addresses will be shown inside JoinPOG.com experiences so players are not asked to paste unknown hex from chat.

Other wallets may work once contracts are public. They are not the supported onboarding path. If a third-party UI disagrees with chain state, trust the explorer and the wallet balance, not the screenshot.

9. Roadmap

  • Now. Public thesis, site, and this whitepaper on JoinPOG.com.
  • Mainnet parameters. Chain, contracts, and material caps published before mint. Token supply is already fixed at 1,000,000,000 POG.
  • Wallet connect. Robinhood Wallet flow live in JoinPOG.com games.
  • Play → mint → trade. First materials earnable in-game with public remaining supply.

Dates are deliberately omitted until engineering locks them. A dated roadmap that cannot be shipped is worse than a short honest one.

10. Risks

  • Smart-contract bugs, wallet phishing, and mistaken transfers are possible. On-chain assets are not recoverable by a studio “restore.”
  • Game design can still feel unfair even when supply is public. Transparency is not a balance patch.
  • Network fees, wallet availability, and regulatory rules can change how players access $POG.
  • $POG total supply is fixed at 1,000,000,000. Circulating float, allocations, and market price are not promises of value.
